Caleb Rogers: A Journey To This Moment

Though it is quite hard to write about yourself yet I have tried myself best to express all about myself. My name is Caleb Rogers, professionally known as Lil K or just K. Why? Read to find out!

I’m originally from Rostov-on-Don in southern Russia. I was adopted with my brother when I was 6 months old and brought back to the states where I grew up in Richmond, Virginia. My family liked to move around a lot, which looking back on that I’m blessed. I went to 5 different schools before I was in high school and then my brother and I found ourselves at a Military Academy on our first day of high school. Hargrave Military Academy opened a big door for me. I found my passion for film at Hargrave as well as being a leader, student, brother and athlete. I help develop their art department, won multiple national art awards, 3-time state swimmer (breaking 2 state records) and graduating as a humble, kind, caring, and courageous young man on my way to continue my education at the Savannah College of Art & Design.

I attended SCAD in the fall of 2018 not to realize that the thing I had dreamed of doing was right around the corner. In my fourth week of school, I was offered an Internship with London Alley Entertainment as an assistant creative director. My first project was a music video with Meek Mill and Drake for their song Going Bad. I had continued to work on music videos and hang out with some of the most talented singers including Ariana Grande, Chance The Rapper, 21 Savage and J. Cole. In December of 2018, I was featured in South Magazine tittle The birth of Lil K for my success at London Alley.

Though my path ended up leading me away from SCAD I am extremely blessed for the experience and connections I made. In June of 2019, I moved to Atlanta where I earned an internship with EUE Screen Gem Studios as a production assistant for the Conjuring 3 and Strangers Things season 4 thanks to my connections at SCAD. Now being a student at Piedmont I can’t wait to see what is in store for me next.
